Specialists in Custom Tailored Big 5 Photographic Safaris and fair-chase, controlled Rifle / Bow Trophy hunting throughout Southern Africa. As well as planning and arranging pre or post tours to Cape Town / Victoria Falls / Okavango Delta / Serengeti Migrations, fishing trips and much more...

Matthew Greeff

Matt grew up in the Lowveld and after schooling in Nelspruit, got accepted into Veterinary School in Pretoria. Too much social 'and not enough study' resulted in the call up for his 2 year military service at the School of Armour Bloemfontein. Finishing in 1987 as a 2nd Lieutenant.

Obtained Professional-hunting license in 1988 through Nature Conservation system while a field guide / ranger in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve and hunted 3 years with Big Game outfitter Tim Otto Safaris before specializing in guiding his own Safaris in 1992. Since then a full-time time active Professional Hunter for the past 35 years. Hunting in South Africa, Mozambique, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Tanzania with fellow established outfitters.

He has travelled to International marketing trips to the USA since 1989, promoting a personal, professional experience, focused on 'proper on foot hunting’ only for both dangerous and plains-game species and a high return clientele, returning to MGS as many as 15 times! His Favourite pastimes in addition to hunting, include all kinds of fishing, (especially fly-fishing), competitive sporting clay and bow shooting, golf (needs work), running (sometimes) and watching rugby and cricket .

Matt is a Life member of Safari Club International, a full member of Dallas Safari Club & Wild Sheep Foundation.

As well as an Official SCI measurer.

He is also a member of the South African Photographic Society and Birdlife of South Africa,

CTSASA FITASC coach and National Sporting Clays Association

(NSCA) member and only qualified NSCA instructor in Africa!

Sylvia Greeff

Sylvia grew up in the Limpopo province of South Africa on a large game ranch on the Olifants River, now a part of the 'Greater Kruger National Park' reserves. Growing up in Big 5 country and in a region of established professional hunting and safaris, it was easy to develop a deep interest and love for Africa's wildlife with lots of outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, camping and more.

Meeting Matt in 1990 as young professional hunter for Tim Otto safaris and getting married in 1994, was the start of something new and also her love of cooking and entertaining guests from all around the world.

Her variety of tasty venison dishes are well renowned and enjoyed

every safari season with MGS and Gold Valley Lodge guests. ( A recipe book might be in the works for our loved ones & guests! )

Kalie Botes

Kalie joined MGS in 2015 as full time professional guide / manager ,after guiding in the Kruger National Park as field and trails guide and obtaining his plains and dangerous game PH licences.

With all this experience you are assured of an exciting, yet safe safari with MGS and their team.

Combined this with some excellent South African wines and exceptional cuisine around the campfire and you have all the ingredients for the ‘Safari of a lifetime’.
